Top 5 Medical Apps Performance on Android in Europe, Q2 2021

During the second quarter of 2021, the performance of the top 5 medical apps on the Android platform in Europe varied significantly in terms of downloads and active users. Here, we explore the trends observed for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.

MHRS, developed by T.C. Sağlık Bakanlığı, saw a notable increase in weekly downloads towards the end of the quarter. Starting at around 276K downloads in the first week of April, the app reached approximately 421K downloads by the last week of June. The number of active users also followed a positive trend, climbing from 1.4M to over 2.6M within the same period.

TousAntiCovid, published by the French Government, experienced a steady rise in weekly downloads, beginning at 121K in late March and peaking at around 178K by the end of June. Active users, however, showed some fluctuation, starting at 1.4M and varying throughout the quarter, ending at approximately 1.4M users.

Doctolib - Your health partner from Doctolib exhibited a stable download rate, with weekly downloads ranging from 68K to 115K. The app's active user base saw a gradual increase, growing from around 1.1M in late March to nearly 1.6M by the end of June.

The NHS App by NHS Digital showed significant growth in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads rose from approximately 23K in late March to around 153K by the end of June. The active user count also increased notably, from 305K to over 785K during the same timeframe.

Lastly, NHS COVID-19, published by the Department of Health and Social Care, saw its weekly downloads fluctuate, starting at 23K in late March and peaking at around 112K by the end of June. The app's active users showed a steady increase, rising from 1.1M to 1.5M over the quarter.
